My baby is a good eater. She snarfs ham, turkey, cheese, peas, green beans, hamburger, tomatoes when they’re part of pico de gallo, raisins, any kind of fruit. I can’t remember everything. Suffice it to say that most anything we put in front of her she will eat.
This morning I walked over to her with a bag of bread in my hand as she sat in her high chair. When she saw me tearing the bread into little pieces to put them on her tray she smiled as big as she could and started clapping. For some store-bought bread.
And I just thought, Oh, Sweet Pea, wait til you eat bread fresh from the oven and slathered in butter. Mommy will clap with you then.
