This morning I listened to a preacher on the radio talk about Noah and it got me thinking. God knew long ahead of time (He told Noah, what? a year ahead? maybe longer?) that He was going to send the flood, and He also knew that He would save Noah and his family. Now God could have wrapped Noah and family in His hands as the water started to fall. He could have simply scooped up those He chose to save and carried them above the pandemonium.
But He didn’t. Instead He gave Noah specific instructions to build the ark that would carry them to safety. As Noah built the boat He was taunted, laughed at, all for doing what God told him to do.
God didn’t save him from the jeers of his community. God didn’t spare Noah from living in the ark for a full year as the waters receded. But in the end Noah “inherited the earth.”
[edit: I want to add that the "inherited the earth" part was put in quotations because it is what the preacher on the radio said this morning and I liked it. Should have clarified earlier.]

What a perfect post…I have been learning all about trust this week with my bible study. Maybe it was a trust test? Through all of the jeers, Noah continued on, trusting in God’s love.
