When I was pregnant with G I sat on the couch one evening and watched TV while I propped up my feet on the pillows. That side effect of pregnancy, that swelling, was in full force on my feet. Hubby sat down next to me, gently took my feet in his hands and quietly said, “Erin, they’re like… little blocks of pudge.” All I could do was sadly nod in agreement.
My father brings up this story a lot and we all laugh heartily, because what loving husband would say such a thing to his hormonal wife?
Well they’re back. Those stinkin’ blocks of pudge. Today I did nothing but sit around at my friend’s house, the furthest I walked was from her dining table to her couch, and when I got home the skin on my feet was so stretched it hurt to walk. Fun!
