up and running

in random-ness

Monday night was THE DAY, the day we’d counted down to for around a month: Hubby and I got new phones.  Woot!  Now I can receive calls and make calls at my leisure, without using Hubby’s phone, the phone with no good attributes.  Sure, it could make and receive calls sometimes, but don’t expect to hear it ring when it’s in your pocket and don’t expect to understand the person on the other end of the line.  That would be too much to ask of a phone.  And the thing is, Hubby knew it was a terrible phone from Day Two.  So I was all “Why don’t you go trade it in?  You have a three-day (or five-day or something-day) grace period and you should get a phone like mine.  Which is awesome.”  I did have an awesome phone, until I dropped it too many times.  But he mustered through it, decided to keep the stinking phone and simply complain about it every single day to me.  Every. Single. Day.  Sometimes a few times in the same conversation.

Let’s just say I’m glad we have new phones.

Last week we went to the Verizon store to plan out our Monday purchases, to scout prices there and at Best Buy, but then a really nice man started helping us and we ended up promising to come back and purchase the phones through him on Monday.  And I’m not sure we got the best deal, but LALALA-I’m-sticking-my-fingers-in-my-ears and I’m not reading you Verizon ads that are promising free phones and LALALA sometimes it’s just nicer to have someone walk you through the whole thing.

And now we have new phones.  New phones where the ringer will blow out your ear drum if you happen to be laying in bed with the phone on your nightstand when someone calls.  This is exactly what we wanted.  So call away, friends!  I’ll probably answer!
