the children of a crazy woman

in family togetherness

Yesterday morning the kids helped me make breakfast.  Usually I like to make breakfast by myself on preschool mornings because we’re on a time crunch and their mixing is slow at best, but I had an abundance of patience yesterday and the three of us had a good time.  Then I actually got to take a shower before preschool, which is another uncommon treat, because usually the time crunch makes me wait until after I’ve dropped them off.  It was a happy morning.  The only thing I didn’t do was put on makeup.  I never leave the house without makeup.  But I tried really hard to not be vain and just take the kids to their classes.

At preschool we got their coats off and hung up, I said hello to a few friends, then I came home and went upstairs to put on my make-up.  That is when I saw the black mascara smears around my eyes.  BIG smears, friends.  I love that my kids get to be the daughter of the crazy woman.

I did not see any smears when I saw you. I think you must have done that on the way home, so no one saw it : )

Don’t you love that no one told you? Ha! It was worth it to have a good morning! :) (at least for a little while…)

Ok freak woman. You always look smashing. ALWAYS. In fact…sometimes as I throw on my workout/cleaning clothes and a hat…I groan to myself, “And Erin will be fabulous this morning…while I look blecky.” Seriously…if you had rings…it was about time you lowered the bar. :)
