Recently I joined a group of women who gather together weekly to study God’s Word. I am privileged to study the Bible with these women who are passionate about following and learning more about Him. Each week we have five homework assignments. Working through five days of homework per week has given God the opportunity to reveal bits of His wisdom to me that I hadn’t known before.
And I am amazed at His Word.
He does not mince words. Every word He breathed into that book is in that particular place—in that chapter, in that book—for a specific reason, and the truths He reveals are brought together in different places throughout the Bible. That is what I love most: the connections God purposefully tied together from the Old Testament to the New Testament, from one book to another. I majored in English Literature in college and subtle connections in a great book of literature are what I love most. Only this time it’s not just great literature I’m reading, it’s also a book of history and prophecy and love.
This is all new to me. Growing up I knew the stories of Abraham and Noah and Moses and Jesus, but the story of them I didn’t know. Before now I didn’t see the layers in the stories of old. I didn’t understand the passion of our God as He lead and instructed and disciplined those He loved. Now I am learning them. Now He is revealing His goodness and His truth and His unfailing love to me.
It is a good place to be, living in His light. You should come, too.

I completely agree! It is truly amazing how God continually reveals himself through His Word! Thanks for sharing.
Our sermons the last couple of months was entitled, “What You Didn’t Learn in Sunday School.” It totally retaught the good ol’ stories….so much is just looked over if not fully understood!
Miss you all!
Love,
Amanda
