This morning I took my kids to the fountains in Riverside Park, the fountains that take a full 45-minutes to get to after driving on Highway 400, navigating construction on Kellogg, and weaving my way through the one-way streets of downtown Wichita. We got out of the car, quickly slathered on sunscreen, made our way to the fountains, and it was COLD. Overcast, breezy, and in the 70s. A glorious day for doing anything else outside, but not glorious for being in swimming clothes and running through chilly chlorinated water. G lasted all of two minutes before hiding under a towel next to me on the bench. Little Missy lasted a bit longer, but even she couldn’t stand the cold for too much longer, no matter how strongly those joyous fountains called to her.
We loaded up and headed to lunch with my parents. Leaving the restaurant I realized that I could turn off the air-conditioner at home and open the windows! So immediately upon arriving home I turned off the a/c and opened all the windows. Now it is sunny and warming up.
I wish the weather would quit fighting me.

FYI, there is a water park in El Dorado that would be considerably quicker to get to.
Bum Deal!! Sounds a bit like an outing I had not too long ago….except it was Seattle fighting me…not the weather!! ha! I’m glad James D let you know about an El Dorado park to go to…..you’ll have to let me know where that is when we get back!!
