runnin’ around

in family togetherness, yummy food

I had planned on the kids and me staying in today, hibernating and snuggling on the couch while the cold weather comes in, but then I realized that I have a TON of errands to run, most of which shouldn’t be put off until next week, so today is a marathon day of buckling the kids in the car, driving around Wichita and Andover, unbuckling the kids, running in one store, buckling the kids in the car, driving around some more, til we finally make it home so that we can watch Bolt and make crock-pot chili.  I’m looking forward to the snow.  Hopefully after all this build-up there will actually be some accumulation.

Nearly every time we’re in the bread section of the grocery store, G asks if we can buy a donut.  And every single time I’ve said No, not now.  I get tired of hearing myself saying no.  Today we’re going out for donuts!  Because isn’t sugar a great way to sustain your kids through marathon errand-running?  ha ha  Now I have to Google the nearest Lamar’s donuts.

Have a good weekend, friends!

I had to go to a preschool meeting this morning, and then I had to go through the drive thru at J’s because you cannot be snowed in without wine. In between the two stops, and while it was sleeting pretty bad, I drove by your house and saw you were gone. I thought to myself, now who in the world would get out in weather like this…

We made it back home and are going to have chili also!

My dad just called and told me y’all are in for a pretty big snow up north. I hope you stay warm and safe :) By the way, I love Lamar’s donuts. I have never found another so good – eat and extra bite for me :)
