in G

A few weeks ago my sister Hayley and her husband Todd-in-law came over and watched our kids while Hubby and I went to the charity banquet.  As she was putting G to bed Hayley asked him whether or not he was going to preschool the next day.

“I don’t know.  My mommy hasn’t told me yet.”  Pause.  “So what are you doing tomorrow, Leelee?”

My firstborn is learning how to make conversation!  Learning how to not only talk about himself but to engage others in what they’re doing.

Last week G and Little Missy were eating Gummy Worms when G said to his sister: “So have you ever heard of Gummy Bears, Little Missy?”

Then Saturday, while picking up Little Missy from Leelee and Todd’s, G said “Did you have a good time at the park?”

I don’t know what all this means.  But I think it means that G is growing up and becoming interested in other people.  Or at least learning how to pretend that he’s interested in other people.
