A few weeks ago Hubby and I were out to dinner when he chuckled and pointed to an item on the menu: the restaurant offered mountain oysters that were hand-battered.
Tip: when you’re offering bull testicles as an appetizer, don’t sell them as hand-battered.
Just sayin’.

don’t ya wonder who thought that one up! someone was laughing, knowing not everyone would catch that!
When we were in Hays last weekend we went to a mountain oyster fry. It’s something his parents and friends do occasionally. I always opt for the other meat. I’m not sure why people eat them. I looked at them raw this time because I was curious. Definitely not something that’s going in my mouth.
We’ve been to several. It is something people do in the country because cow farmers castrate the baby bulls (baby bulls? Steer? Veal? Whatever).
