trying to be responsible

in just me

With Hubby being on 3-day workweeks and now working 5-day weeks, but still not with all the overtime we’ve been used to, we’ve realized how little we actually need. Hubby and I have all the superficial things we need: a pretty house, two cars that run, furniture that we like. So both of us (I may have been the one it look longer to convince) have decided to cut back and pay off some debt. Since we’re content with our surroundings why spend money on more stuff that will just have to be dusted?

Before we came to this conclusion I had been searching for a pub table to put in our kitchen. We have lots of empty floor space in which a a tall table would be great. A place for the kids to color while I’m cooking, somewhere the four of us can sit for a quick lunch. But then I decided the kitchen table would all the more wonderful if I bought it free and clear.

Well, this morning I found a pub table and two chairs for $100. That is cheap folks. And I might have to start my new paying-off-debt plan after I buy the table.
