for these things I am thankful

in He is good, just me

Today I am 30!

The summer before I turned 20 my friend Amy and I drove around in her car, lamenting the fact that we were leaving our teen years and turning into ”adults.”  My thirtieth birthday has been on the horizon for a while now but the fear of getting older hasn’t hit me with this birthday as it has with others.  I think it is because this is where I’m supposed to be.  Not where other 30 year olds are necessarily supposed to be, but my life is exactly as it should be.  And for these things I am thankful:

  1. Hubby  Every day my sweetie makes me laugh and keeps me sane.  He encourages me to be a better version of myself and gently picks up my slack.  He loves our children as much as I do and is a better father than I dreamed of asking for.  Every day he holds my hand and walks with me on this life we are creating.
  2. G and Little Missy  These two blessings make me me wildly happy everyday.  I love watching them grow and learn and experience new things.  And I never take for granted the fact that God allowed me to be their Mom.
  3. Family Two parents, one sister, one brother-in-law, two parents-in-law, three brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, two nephews and three nieces.  I love every one of them on their own, yet when we are together I am surrounded by joy.  To have the nuclear family I was lucky enough to be born into, then through marriages getting many more wonderful additions, I am blessed.
  4. Friends I am blessed with long-time friends who I don’t get to see or talk to as often as I’d like, and I have new friends who promise to be long-term as well.  They keep me sane in the day-to-dayness of life.

So as I turn 30 I am grateful for this beautiful life my awesome Lord has given me.  He deserves all the credit.

Happy Birthday, Erin! My sis said she was going to head down to celebrate with you – I hope that wasn’t a surprise :)

Happy Birthday Erin!!!!!!! My 30th birthday was a good milestone too. MY actual birthday was a bad day but the turning 30 just felt right. It was like I was finally starting to be comfortable in my own skin.
